The opportunity
Build the systems that test, monitor and improve voice AI agents handling millions of real calls a month. Full-stack ownership on a ten-person team, plus time with large enterprise customers deploying the product.
A seed-stage, revenue-generating San Francisco startup building simulation, observability and self-improvement tools for voice AI agents. Large technology companies, banks, healthcare companies and restaurant chains use it to make their voice agents reliable. Its founders built core AI infrastructure at major cloud providers.
What you will do
- Architect systems that simulate, analyze and evaluate conversational AI across voice and multimodal channels
- Build resilient AWS infrastructure for millions of real-time conversations, using Lambda, EC2, WebSockets and SIP
- Create algorithms and pipelines that surface insights, catch failure modes and keep agents safe
- Own your work across the stack
- Work on-site with customers to build, sell and deploy the product
What you bring
- At least a year of professional engineering with a high technical bar
- Strength across the stack, especially databases, AWS and AI engineering
- Obsession with detail and experience leading technical execution
- High-traffic features you built at scale
- A strong degree or time at a top fast-growing startup
- Clear, personable communication for customer work
- Willingness to work in person in San Francisco five days a week
Nice to have
- Strong opinions on system design from past systems
- A highly optimized, AI-assisted development workflow
- Experience as a technical lead who owned projects end to end
- Voice AI tools such as LiveKit, Deepgram, Cartesia or ElevenLabs
Pay and benefits
- Salary range: $160,000 to $220,000 per year. This is the range the client expects to pay in good faith. The final amount depends on experience and other job-related factors.
