The opportunity
Own core backend systems for a fast-growing platform that pays everyday creators per view to make short-form videos for brands. Scale, correctness, fraud and real money moving every week, on a very small team.
A New York startup of about 20 running creator video campaigns end to end for hundreds of brands, from sourcing and briefing creators to reviewing videos, tracking views, catching fake views and paying out. It has grown several-fold month over month.
What you will do
- Own core backend systems from first design through production
- Build for volume that grows every month, where a wrong number costs someone money
- Solve problems with no written answer, including messy data, fraud and load
- Apply AI where it changes what a small team can do
- Set the bar for architecture, code quality and shipping speed
- Work with customers and help decide what gets built
What you bring
- Roughly 2 to 5 years building and running production backend systems
- Excellent TypeScript as your main backend language
- Depth in data modeling and making systems fast and correct at scale
- Ambiguous problems taken to production with little oversight
- High standards and high speed together
- Product judgment tied to customer outcomes
- Willingness to work in person in New York five days a week

- Adtech, marketplace or payments experience
- Systems where money or trust was on the line
- AI features real users depend on
Pay and benefits
- Salary range: $150,000 to $250,000 per year. This is the range the client expects to pay in good faith. The final amount depends on experience and other job-related factors.
