The opportunity
Own the models inside an AI video creation product. You train and evaluate small proprietary models, build benchmarks across video-generation models, and turn real usage and creative judgment into training data that makes the product smarter.
A small San Francisco lab working where AI meets creativity. Its first product, a desktop app, turns a prompt into a finished video by combining many AI models, motion graphics and editing, and runs on the user's own hardware. The team is starting to train its own models to make that pipeline faster and better.
What you will do
- Own training and evaluation for the models used in the product
- Build benchmarks and feedback loops across video-generation models
- Turn product usage and human creative judgment into high-quality training and evaluation data
- Lead proprietary small-model work that makes the pipeline smarter and faster
What you bring
- Roughly 3 to 6 years of hands-on work with diffusion, flow-matching or other modern image and video generation models
- Models you trained, fine-tuned and shipped end to end
- Sharp instincts for what data to collect, label, filter and feed back
- Work at a well-known lab or company on video or generative media
- A builder's mindset; you ship rather than only research
- Willingness to work in person in San Francisco
Nice to have
- Experience on a named, released video model
- Built evaluation harnesses or training-data pipelines
- Research depth combined with shipping
Pay and benefits
- Salary range: $200,000 to $350,000 per year. This is the range the client expects to pay in good faith. The final amount depends on experience and other job-related factors.
- Comprehensive benefits
